For the first time ever, Sevilla, España, is not celebrating their very famous "parades" or "pasos" during Holy week due to the Pandemia affecting our entire world.
This week, we will explore the Holy Week traditions that are normally happening around the Spanish speaking world, the most famous being in Sevilla Spain, and a song that Spain is singing to spread "solidaridad" # Solidarity amoung Spain, and the world.

creyentes: believers
penitente: The people who are part of the parade, dressed. Penitent, comes from Penance. from the dictionary:
noun: a person who repents their sins or wrongdoings and (in the Christian Church) seeks forgiveness from God. (The people carrying the "pasos" believe they should be physically suffering to pay for their sins).
paso: (the mini "parade" of the church's relics through the streets).

La música espantosa y poderosa que siempre acompaña los pasos nos despertó. This was a "Paso" that passed right past our apartment at 2am. We didn't even know that there was supposed to be one so close! We woke up to the sound of the chilling music that always accompanies the pasos. When we went out on our balcony, I had tears in my eyes to because I was able to witness this miracle and could feel so deeply the passion and faith see and experience the passion of the Spanish people! It is truly one of the most special moments of my life that I will never be able to explain in words! The feeling was electric! >> Profe
